Charitable giving is something that many people choose to incorporate into their New Year’s resolutions, but unfortunately many fail to plan for it financially and practically. According to Jeff Chaddock, a private wealth advisor with Ameriprise Financial, passing wealth to family and to philanthropic organizations is something that should be incorporated into people’s financial plans throughout a lifetime, especially for those with a high net worth.

MINNEAPOLIS – NOVEMBER 17, 2011 – Ameriprise Financial employees and financial advisors are joining forces with Feeding America and food banks across the U.S. to ensure hungry families can share a nutritious meal this Thanksgiving. On Friday, Nov. 18, volunteer teams will spend the day helping more than 320 hunger relief organizations repackage bulk food items, assemble holiday meal packages and stock their warehouses. Many of the firm’s financial advisors invited their clients, friends and family to join this National Day of Service, resulting in nearly 7,000 volunteers working for hunger relief organizations in 47 states.
