Vice President, Fixed Income Research and Strategy
As Vice President of Fixed Income Research and Strategy at Ameriprise Financial, Brian Erickson contributes fixed income investment strategies, insight, and commentary to financial advisors, clients, and prospective clients through various channels, including the “Before the Bell,” “After the Close,” “Quarterly Capital Market Digest,” and “Committee Perspectives” reports. Erickson serves as a voting member on the Ameriprise Global Asset Allocation Committee, which offers both tactical and strategic asset allocation strategies for the firm. He also leads the firm’s fixed income securities research team.

Erickson has focused on investment analysis since 1998, starting his career as a fixed income analyst for Piper Jaffray progressing to principal and senior analyst of the Aircraft Finance Research Group, analyzing debt financing for U.S. airlines. Prior to coming to Ameriprise in 2010, Erickson held the role of vice president, senior analyst at Stifel Nicolaus focusing on credit based securitized products including collateralized loan obligations (CLOs) and commercial mortgage-backed securities (CMBS). He started his professional career working for General Mills, Inc.

Erickson is a member of the CFA Institute and the CFA Society of Minnesota. He graduated from St. Olaf College in Northfield, MN with a B.A. in Math and Economics and holds the Chartered Financial Analyst® (CFA®) designation.
